Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our services, how we work, and the key areas of Indian corporate law — answered directly by our team.
General Questions About the Firm
How is Corpus Juris Legal different from other corporate law firms in Delhi?
+
The most significant difference is our partner-led service model. Every matter at Corpus Juris Legal is handled by a named partner — not by a senior associate or team of juniors under nominal partner supervision. This means that the lawyer who attends your first meeting is the lawyer who will appear in court, negotiate your transaction, and respond to your urgent calls. We have built the firm specifically to support this model across 12 practice areas.
Do you handle matters outside Delhi NCR?
+
Yes. While our physical presence is in Connaught Place, New Delhi, we handle matters across India — including appearances before the Supreme Court, NCLAT, SAT, ITAT, and DRT, as well as transactions and advisory work for clients based across the country. Corporate clients in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai regularly engage us for Delhi-based regulatory proceedings and pan-India transactional work.
How do you structure fees?
+
We offer three fee structures depending on the nature of the engagement: fixed fees for defined-scope matters (most transaction documentation, regulatory filings, and compliance programmes), time-based fees for complex litigation and ongoing advisory, and retainer arrangements for clients requiring monthly legal support. We are transparent about fee structures upfront — you will always know what the matter will cost before we begin.
How quickly can I speak to a partner?
+
Same-day for urgent matters. Our standard response time for new enquiries is within 4 business hours. For regulatory emergencies — SEBI show cause notices, NCLT urgent applications, customs seizures — we are available outside business hours. Reach us by WhatsApp on +91 84008 60008 for the fastest response.
What is your minimum engagement size?
+
We do not have a formal minimum engagement size. However, we are designed for corporate clients with substantive legal needs — companies, institutions, and founders who require senior-level legal counsel, not volume commodity work. If your matter requires a senior partner's full attention, we want to hear from you.
Can you work with our existing in-house legal team?
+
Absolutely — and this is one of our most common engagement models. Many of our clients have in-house counsel or legal departments who handle day-to-day matters but require external specialist support for complex transactions, regulatory investigations, major litigation, or specialised practice areas like IBC, DPDP Act, or competition law. We collaborate closely with in-house teams and respect privilege boundaries.
