Access to Justice

Pro Bono

We believe access to quality legal counsel should not be determined solely by the ability to pay. Our pro bono programme is a core part of how we practise law.

Our Commitment

Every partner at Corpus Juris Legal commits a minimum of 50 hours per year to pro bono matters. This is not a target — it is a floor.

We focus our pro bono work in three areas where our corporate expertise creates the most value: NGO and charitable trust governance, early-stage startup legal support, and individual rights cases involving regulatory overreach.

Pro bono matters are handled with the same partner-led attention as commercial mandates. We do not assign pro bono work to associates as a training exercise.

Who We Help

  • Registered NGOs & Trusts

FCRA compliance, trust deed review, Section 8 company governance, and regulatory challenges from MHA or Ministry of Finance.

  • First-Generation Startups

Founders from non-privileged backgrounds who cannot afford commercial rates for their first incorporation, SHA, or IP registration.

  • Individual Rights Matters

Cases involving fundamental rights, unjust regulatory action, or employment discrimination where the individual cannot access the legal system.

  • Legal Education

Guest lectures at law schools, moot court judging, and mentorship for law students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
