The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967

Provides for the effective prevention of unlawful activities of individuals and associations, and for dealing with terrorist activities. The 2019 amendment enabled the Government to designate individuals as terrorists (not just organisations). The UAPA contains severe bail restrictions and is administered through Special NIA Courts.
